86& of 40-ish people is not like 86% of 110 people.
but however. this discussion is going nowhere. i see your point, and you see mine. thats it.

for me the poll itself is not as meaningful as you pretend it to be. based on timing, publicity, and the trouble it causes. i just watch it from another PoV than you do, shaxe. f.e. if you redesigning a product, you will also ask the persons, what is wrong, what needs to be better, what needs to be more adjusted to sth. but the results are always a bit besides / more adjusted to or by the brand itself. this step fell over. CPL doesnt feel like a brand anymore. dont get me wrong - i liked the way d2c was trying to get a democratic choice.

however, JDI, thanks for your support in forums. i appreciate that. and i can understand your point clearly. but just to make sure - you want to drive all of the 3 events at the same time, but you critisize this event for being alive the way it was. for me it sounded a bit like you can not decide in which competition you want to drive the most, since you wanted to drive in CNC, CPL and somewhere else. I felt like you need to do your own hierarchy. Back when trackmania was a big thing, there was no way to participate in every competition, because there were too many and tons of it. However, we are all playing tm for fun. and being awesome on 30 maps is too hard, i agree. but to be honest, does it a difference from now? did you train daily since the change came? i dont think so. (possibly i am wrong of course)
i trained daily the first week for 1 hour. since then, no training at all. only doing races at sundays. and when i look into my division, the skill level is on an equal position. its fun to race. but on sunday there wasnt any fun. because it was over way too fast.

additionally, just wanted to say it. having a qualification is an interesting thing. i liked it. but the question in my opinion was, why there was such an huge gap between qualification and the upcoming league? it was 2 months, am i wrong? of course its been the summer holidays and i understand that this was the right thing to do; but wouldnt it be better, if the qualification started like august to septembre, doing the league from octobre to december or stuff like that? my point is, i am pretty sure, that lots of people forgot about this league, since there were a huge gap in between these steps. just giving it a thought.

before we started qualification we didn't know how many people will participate, so we didn't know how much time we need to prepare x-server for x-division. and there was summer/vacations. you are right with the big gap and people forget about the league.

In my eyes the first season is like a test season, nothing runs perfect atm. for example last playday the cpl xaseco plugin was going crazy, and the stats for playday 3 are mucked up. but we have all logfiles and can retrace the whole playday in every division. we need time for it, because we have to do it manually, every single round in every division.

Another point, the decission to do it with 5 maps now was a mathematical decission. Its easier to handle and we don't need rounded values, like with 6, 7 or 8 maps.

Sure (in my eyes) 1,5 hours on sunday are to much (hard to stay focused) and 45 minutes is to less for a playday. but we have the chance to adapt it in season 2. this season was 2 playdays already played, so we had to find a solution what doesn't impact the first 2 playdays

TimaE.

You are right that i play for fun I critisized this tournament because i didnt think that it would take as long as it did to play each playday(as i explained that i drive smurfcup and that is 7 maps and 40 to 45 min each playday)
You are wrong about me not training the maps after it was cut to 20 Since it was cut down to 20 i feel its much easier to get down to driving the 20 maps offline and getting okey driving them.

I also agree that this week it went by a bit fast but as nuls explained it was for a reason.
I am sure that for next season it will all be better

Timae, I want to assure you that the change was made as an exception for this season. The rounds/map number is only fixed for the rest of this season and was set as a compromise to tie in with the first 2 play days. Before next season we will be trying to get the views of everyone in the community to get a system that suits almost everyone. E.G. it might be changed in S2 to 7 maps each play day and 25maps for a whole season

I also want to point out that we are still trying to stick to our brand of offering a competition which bridges the gap between Pros and amateur racers within our community.

like nuls said S1 was/is a bit of a test season. We are still needing to fine tune a few things. From the experience of running S1 and from the feedback from you guys. I am sure that S2 will run a lot smoother and to most people's taste.

So please bare with us!!!

yeah sure. already told that, its clear, you cannot do it anyhow else. just to mention the situation.

So please bare with us!!!

as the admins / lead of a tournament or event or anything like that you have to deal with these kind of topics of course. i am pretty excited about your concept, with which you will come up with season transitions and potentially new qualifiers(?)
I will drive this season at least until the end, since i began it. giving a feedback, is what you need. so there was mine. no problem guys, i know you are a fine team to play with.

Since it was cut down to 20 i feel its much easier to get down to driving the 20 maps offline and getting okey driving them.

well you caught me off-guard than. i want to results jdi. good luck in your division!
